Tall case brass dial clock, 1773-1790.

Mahogany tall-case clock. The hood has a molded arch pediment with a carved solid fret, three turned and carved compressed-ball-and-spire finials on fluted plinths, free-standing rope-twist columns with brass capitals and bases at the front corners, and a glazed door with an astragal top. Waist with cove molding at the top, and a reverse-blocked case door with an astragal top. Base with cove and ovolo moldings at the top, applied scalloped banding at the top, ogee molding at the bottom, a carved shell or fan pendant drop and supported on ogee bracket feet. Engraved dial with roman hour numerals and arabic minute numerals, engraved c-scrolls and vines in the spandrels, and a moon phase dial in the lunette. Inside the chapter ring there is a seconds dial with a star motif at the center, a calendar aperture, engraved flowers and the inscription "Harland Norwich" surrounded by engraved cartouches. Eight day movement.
